AN ACT to amend the Public Finance Management Act 2001.

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of Samoa in Parliament assembled as follows:

1. Short title and commencement-(1) This Act may be cited as the Public Finance Management Amendment Act 2008 and shall be read with and form part of the Public Finance Management Act 2001 (the Principal Act).

(2) This Act commences on a date to be nominated by the Minister of Finance.

2. Adjustment for unforeseen expenditure -Section 29 of the Principal Act is amended:

(a) in subsection (1) by deleting the percentage "1%" where it appears and substituting it with the percentage "3%"; and

(b) in subsection (2) by deleting the word "Unauthorized" in the brackets and substituting it with the word "Unforeseen".
