(AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 7 OF 1998

An Act to amend the Vanuatu National Provident Fund Act [CAP. 189].

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:

INSERTION OF NEW SECTION 38A

1. The following new section is inserted after section 38 of the Vanuatu National Provident Fund Act [CAP. 189]:
   

"FURTHER DISBURSEMENTS OF CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE FUND

38A. (1) Notwithstanding the provisions of section 38 of this Act, a member of the Fund who made requisition for disbursement of his or her contributions under section 2(1) of the State of Emergency Order No. 12 of 1998, shall be paid such sums as requested.

(2) Where any member has requested the withdrawal from the Fund of the full amount standing to the credit of that member, such amount shall be payable for those contribution made up to the 12^th day of January, 1998 only.

(3) This section shall cease to have effect on the completion of the disbursement of the contributions to members under subsection (1)."

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 8^th day of February, 1998.
