PASSPORTS (AMENDMENT) ACT NO. 17 OF 2011

An Act to amend the Passports Act No. 20 of 2009.
Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1 Amendment
The Passports Act No. 20 of 2009 is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2 Commencement
This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

AMENDMENTS OF THE PASSPORTS
ACT NO. 20 OF 2009

1 After section 4A
Insert

“4B Issue of diplomatic Passports to a head of mission, consul general, honorary consul and special envoy

(1) Despite subsection 4A(1), the Principal Passport Officer may, on application, issue a Vanuatu diplomatic passport to a person who is not a citizen of Vanuatu and who holds an office as a head of mission, consul general, honorary consul or special envoy.

(2) Subsections 4A(3) to (7) apply in relation to this section.”

2 Subsection 4A (8)
Renumber the subsection as “(7)”
