OATHS (AMENDMENT)
ACT NO. 29 OF 2016

An Act to amend the Oaths Act [CAP 37].

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1. Amendment

The Oaths Act [CAP 37] is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2. Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

AMENDMENTS OF OATHS ACT [CAP 37]

1. After subsection 5(2)

Insert

“(2A) In the case of a by-election, a person who has been declared by the Electoral Commission to be a member of Parliament, is to take and subscribe to the oath of allegiance before the Chief Justice or a Judge or a person authorised to administer oaths.”
