This fifteenth day of April one thousand nine hundred and fifty, before the Joint Court sitting at Santo, composed of:

This is a charge against MONTEIL Jean, son of Pierre and Marie born at Malo on 7th July 1911, at present employed at M. Allègre, living at Maté Wulu (Santo), stands charged with having sold, in August 1947 at Santo, a rifle to the native SEREBO of Kéronebo, Shark Bay.
The accused was heard in his defence, and the Public Prosecutor having delivered his address the Court then gave Judgment.
JUDGMENT
Whereas the evidence in the case provides sufficient proof that MONTEIL is guilty of having at Santo in the month of August 1947, sold a rifle to the native Serebo.
Whereas this is an offence against Article 57 (1) punishable under Article 61 (1) of the Protocol.
ON THESE GROUNDS:
The said MONTEIL is sentenced to one months imprisonment, and to pay a fine of TEN POUNDS STERLING with costs amounting to NINE SHILLINGS STERLING.
It is ordered that the rifle in question be confiscated.
