JOINT COURT OF THE NEW HEBRIDES.
Judgment No. 727

This is a charge made against a native NGANGA, chief of Mélé Island (Efate) for having publicly used insulting words towards Mr Guy PREVOST, French citizen, on 25th March 1944.
The accused was heard in his defence as put forward by himself and by the Native Advocate ad hoc, and the Public Prosecutor ad hoc having delivered his address, the Court then considered its judgment.
JUDGMENT
The principal witness, Mr Guy PREVOST, although regularly summoned did not appear, and it is necessary that he should give evidence;
ON THESE GROUNDS,
The case is adjourned and the accused and witness G. PREVOST will be freshly summoned at the request of the Public Prosecutor. Costs reserved.
