JOINT COURT OF THE NEW HEBRIDES

JUDGMENT No 682


JUDGMENT

This forth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty one,

Before:
J.L. TROGNON, French Judge, President,
A.H. EGAN, British Judge,
M. MITRIDE, Assessor,
H. DAVID, Public prosecutor "ad hoc"
assisted by M. BUTERI, Acting Registrar,

Considering the charge against TIMOTE, native of Banks islands, for having at Vila, on the twenty second of December, one thousand nine hundred and forty, stolen from M. KADDOUR.

The Court having questioned the accused and heard his defence presented by M. G. LODS, His counsel, and also the Public Prosecutor "ad hoc".

After having deliberated, decided that on the evidence given, it was not proved that the native TIMOTE had commited the offence charges against him.

ON THOSE GROUNDS:

The charge against TIMOTE is dismissed, and the costs of the proceedings will be borne by the Condominium Government.
