THE JOINT COURT OF THE NEW HEBRIDES

JUDGMENT
This 9th day of August, 1927.
In the matter of a charge against Chu Van Phuc, a Tonkinese, French subject, labourer of Vila.
It having appeared from the evidence adduced before the Joint Court that the above named accused by supplying alcoholic liquor to natives on July 2nd, and 3rd that is to say one bottle of gin to the native Kota and one bottle of cognac to the native Yacomb, on the 3rd instant, he has committed two distinct breaches of Art. 59 of the Convention of 1914.
Thereupon the Joint Court sentences the said Chu Van Phuc, for his said offence to pay a fine of frs.100 in each case, that is to say 200frs in all, and the costs of the prosecution. In as much as the proceedings had of necessity to be adjourned from the 2nd instant owing to no fault of the accused, the Joint Court orders that the costs of the present proceedings be borne by the Condominium Government.
