PUBLIC SERVICE (AMENDMENT) ACT 2022

AN ACT TO AMEND THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. Short Title

(1) This Act may be cited as the Public Service (Amendment) Act 2022.

(2) In this Act, the Public Service Act, as amended, shall be referred to as the “Principal Act”.

2. Schedule I - Part 2 amended

The Principal Act is amended in Part 2 of Schedule I, by repealing Item 3 in its entirety.

3. Schedule II amended
   • (a) Schedule II of the Principal Act is amended –
     • (i) in the English version only, by
     • (ii) deleting the full-stop “.” in Number 23 and replacing it with a semi-colon “;”;
     • (iii) inserting a semi-colon and the word “; and” after Number 24;
   • (b) in the Tongan version only, by
     • (i) deleting the word “mo e” in Number 23;
     • (ii) deleting the full-stop “.” after Number 24 and replacing it with a semi-colon and the word “; mo e”; and
   • (c) by inserting the following new Number 25:
     • “25 Employees of the Tonga Office of the Auditor General.”.
