PUBLIC FINANCE MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) ACT 2022

AN ACT TO AMEND THE PUBLIC FINANCE MANAGEMENT ACT

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows:

1. Short Title

(1) This Act may be cited as the Public Finance Management (Amendment) Act 2022.

(2) In this Act, the Public Finance Management Act, as amended, shall be referred to as the “Principal Act”.

2. Section 2 amended

Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended by –

(a) deleting the words ““Audit Office” means the Office of the Auditor General; and
(b) adding the following words where appropriate: ““Tonga Office of the Auditor General” shall have the same meaning as in the Public Audit Act;”.

3. Section 17 amended

Section 17 is amended in subsection (3) by deleting the words “Audit Office” and replacing them with “Tonga Office of the Auditor General”.
