APPLICATION FOR BAIL


Mwanesalua, DCJ:


The Applicant was charged with one count of attempted murder, under section 215 (a) of the Penal Code.


He has been in custody since 2015. In fact, he has now been in custody for twenty months. It is not known as to when his case would be listed for trial. He seeks to be on bail pending his trial.


He comes from Fourau village, Ata’a District, Malaita Province. He is now about forty-three years old. He has been committed for trial at the High Court.


Casper Malefo has known Jack Lausao Malefo all his life. If Jack Lausao Malefo is released on bail he will live with Casper Malefo at Henderson, opposite the Police Married Quarters, in East Honiara, Guadalcanal Province.


As surety in this matter, Casper Malefo who will provide cash bail for Jack Lausao Malefo in the sum of $1,000.00 in cash deposit.


The application is granted with the following:


  1. The Applicant must live with Casper Malefo at Henderson, opposite the Police Married Quarters until his trial concludes;
  2. The Applicant must not leave Henderson until his trial concludes;
  3. The Applicant must report to the Central Police Station every Monday of every week before 6pm.
  4. The Applicant must not interfere with or threaten any witnesses in his case when he is on bail.
  5. Casper Malefo is to deposit cash bail of $1,000.00 at the High Court before the Applicant Jack Lausao Malefo is released on bail by this court.
