JUDGMENT


The accused in this case has been charged with three counts indecent assault contrary to section 141 (I), one count of attempted rape contrary to section 138 and seven counts of rape contrary to section 136 of the Penal Code respectively. The accused pleaded not guilty to all the charges when he was arraigned on 6 June 2011.


The accused is the father of the complainant. The complainant filed a sworn statement with the court on 23 May 2011. The complainant stated in that sworn statement that the allegations against her father as set out above were not true. In view of that statement, the prosecution decided not to proceed with the case. The accused is accordingly acquitted of all the charge laid against him. Order accordingly.
