OMBUDSMEN (RETIREMENT AGE) AMENDMENT ORDINANCE

An Ordinance to remove the compulsory retirement age for the office of Ombudsman.

Citation and commencement

1. –(1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Ombudsmen (Retirement Age) Amendment Ordinance 2024.

(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on the day after it is published.

Principal Ordinance

2. This Ordinance amends the Ombudsmen Ordinance.

Section 3 amended (Ombudsmen)

3. In subsection (6) of section 3, delete the words “, and shall so resign his or her office on attaining the age of 72 years”.
