JUDICATURE (COURTS) AMENDMENT ORDINANCE, 2008

An ordinance to amend the Judicature (Courts) Ordinance 1999

Citation and Commencement

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Judicature (Courts) Amendment Ordinance.

Amendments to Judicature (Courts) Ordinance 1999

2. The Judicature (Courts) Ordinance, cap. 2, is hereby amended by the insertion, after Part III, of a new Part IIIA, as follows:

PART IIIA — APPEALS TO THCAIRN COURT OF APPEAAPPEAL IN CIAIL CASES

Pitcairn Court of Appeal may hear appeals from judgments and orders of the Supreme Court

Appeals against decisions of Supreme Court on appeal

15B (1) The decision of the Supreme Court on appeal from an inferior courtinal, unle unless a party, on application, obtains leave to appeal against that decision to the Pitcairn Court of Appeal

(2) An application under subsection (1) for leave to appeal to the Pitcairn Court of Appeal must be made to the Pitcairn Court of Appeal.

(3) In this section the term "inferourt" means the MagisMagistrate's Court and the Lands Court.
