ARRANGEMENT OF SECTION.

Provincial and District Administrators (Amendment of Section 73).

Organic Law on Provincial Governments and Local-level Governments (Amendment) (No. 13) Law 2014,

Being a Law to alter the Organic Law on Provincial Governments and Local-Level Governments,

MADE by the National Parliament.

PROVINCIAL AND DISTRICT ADMINISTRATORS (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 73).

Section 73 of the Principal Organic Law is amended –

(a) in Subsections (2), (2A), (2B) and (2C) by repealing the following words appearing in those subsections:

"concerned from a list of persons recommended to the Provincial Executive Council by the Public Service Commission following procedures prescribed by or under an Act of Parliament."; and

(b) in Subsection 3 by repealing "and following the same procedure as is applicable to the appointment of officers of the Public Service.", and substituting in their stead the following words:

"prescribed by an Act of Parliament.".

Constitution

CERTIFICATE UNDER SECTION 14.

I, THEO ZURENUOC, Speaker of the National Parliament, hereby certify that the requirements of Section 14(1), (2) and (3) of the Constitution were complied with in respect of the Organic Law on Provincial Governments and Local-level Governments (Amendment) (No. 13) Law 2014 –

(a) the first vote was taken on 26 November 2013 when the number of seats in the National Parliament were 111 and those voting for the proposal were 86 and none voted against the proposal; and

(b) the second vote was taken on 19 February 2014 when the number of seats in the National Parliament were 111 and those voting for the proposal were 92 and none voted against the proposal.
