AN ACT

entitled

Medical Registration (Amendment) Act 2021,

Being an Act to amend the Medical Registration Act 1980,

MADE by the National Parliament to be deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 2021.

1. CONSTITUTION OF THE BOARD (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 4).

Section 4 of the Principal Act is amended in Subsection (1) by -

(a) deleting "." in Paragraph (h) and inserting the following:

• "; and;" and

(b) inserting after Paragraph (h) the following new paragraph:

• "(i) one registered medical practitioner appointed by the Faculty of Medicine of the Divine Word University.".

2. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 24).

Section 24 of the Principal Act is amended by repealing Paragraph (a) and replacing it with the following new paragraph:

"(a) has, at a university or other institute, completed a course of medical or surgical study approved by the Board and has reached a standard prescribed by that university or institute for graduation; or ".

3. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 33).

Section 33 of the Principal Act is amended by repealing Paragraph (a) and replacing it with the following new paragraph:

"(a) has, at a university or other institute, completed a course of dental study approved by the Board and has reached a standard prescribed by that university or institute for graduation; or ".
