[1] By information filed on 29 August 2017, the 2 accused were jointly charged with 1 count of rape, contrary to section 128 of the Penal Code (Cap.67).

[2] That information does not comply with section 70 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cap.17). Counsel for the Republic has this morning stated in Court that the Attorney-General does not intend to proceed with this prosecution.

[3] There being no valid information, this matter is struck out and the accused are discharged.

[4] This file is to be closed.
