[1] By information dated 8 November 2017 the accused was charged with 1 count of contravening the conditions of a fishing licence. It is assumed that the charge is brought under the Fisheries Act 2010. The statement of offence in the information refers to section 8 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act 2017, but this reference does not make sense.

[2] In any event, this morning counsel for the Republic (on behalf of the Attorney-General) has entered a nolle prosequi in respect of the information under section 68(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code.

[3] The accused is accordingly discharged.

[4] This file is to be closed.
