MEMORANDUM

This is an application for an order of certiorari. The application arises out of the transfer of land approved by the Kuria magistrates in 1985. They acted of a letter from N. Meren asking for the transfer. The letter purports to be certified by her son Iaon and is counter signed by Irete Teannaki, Clerk of court, Abemama. The letter is said to have been written on Abemama.

Iaon has now sworn an affidavit alleging that the letter is a fraud: it is not his signature (see para 3 of the affidavit).

We have suggested to Ms Maitinnara that she contact Irete, now on Kiritimati, to see if and what he remembers. She should file an affidavit from him.

Adjourned to Friday 25 June.
