(LIFTING OF SUSPENSION) DECREE, 1991

A DECREE TO LIFT THE SUSPENSION PLACED ON THE WAGES REGULATIONS (MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY) ORDER, 1986 AND, TO ACCORDINGLY REPEAL THE WAGES REGULATIONS (MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY) ORDER, 1986 (SUSPENSION) ACT, 1986
IN exercise of the powers conferred upon me as the President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Fiji and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and, acting in accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, I hereby make the following Decree:
Short title and commencement
1. This Decree may be cited as the Wages Regulation (Manufacturing Industry) Order, 1986 (Lifting of Suspension) Decree, 1991 and shall come into force on the date it is signed by his Excellency the President.
Interpretation
2. In this Decree:
"Act No. l of 1986" means the Wages Regulations (Manufacturing Industry) Order, 1986 (Suspension) Act, 1986.
"Minister" means the Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations.
"Order" means the Wages Regulations (Manufacturing Industry) Order, 1986.
Suspension of the Order Lifted
3. The suspension placed on the effect of the Wages Regulations (Manufacturing Industry) Order, 1986 by Act No. 1 of 1986 is hereby lifted and, accordingly the Minister shall specify a new date, to be published in the Fiji Republic Gazette, when the enforcement of the Order shall take effect.
Act No. 1 of 1986 repealed
4. For the purpose of Section (3) of this Decree, the Wages Regulations (Manufacturing Industry) Order, 1986 (Suspension) Act, 1986 is hereby repealed.
