QUARANTINE (AMENDMENT) DECREE 2010
(DECREE No. 45 of 2010)

IN exercise of the powers vested in me as President of the Republic of Fiji and the Commander in Chief of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces by virtue of the Executive Authority of Fiji Decree 2009, I hereby make the following Decree -

TO AMEND THE QUARANTINE ACT (CAP. 112)

Citation and commencement

1. - (1) This Decree may be cited as the Quarantine (Amendment) Decree 2010.

(2) This Decree shall commence on the 15th of September, 2010.

Section 9 amended

2. Section 9 of the Quarantine Act (Cap. 112) is amended by inserting a new subsection (3) after subsection (2)-

"(3) Any sum of money owed to the Authority as in subsection (2) must be paid by the respective agents of the vessels or the aircraft within 31 days. A failure by the agents to pay within the required time will incur a fine of $500.
