MEDICAL AND DENTAL PRACTITIONER (AMENDMENT) DECREE 2014
(DECREE NO. 13 OF 2014)
IN exercise of the powers vested in me as the President of the Republic of Fiji and the Commander in Chief of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces by virtue of the Executive Authority of Fiji Decree 2009 and section 165(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Fiji, I hereby make the following Decree—
A DECREE TO AMEND THE MEDICAL AND DENTAL PRACTITIONER DECREE 2010
Short title and commencement
1.—(1) This Decree may be cited as the Medical and Dental Practitioner (Amendment) Decree 2014 and shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
(2)The Medical and Dental Practitioner Decree 2010 shall be referred to as the "Principal Decree".
Insertion of new section
2. The Principal Decree is amended by inserting the following new section after section 125—
"Appeals
125A.—(1)Any person aggrieved by a decision of the Fiji Medical Association or the Fiji Dental Association may appeal to the Minister.
(2)An appeal made under this section shall be made within 28 days of notification to the appellant of the decision appealed against.
(3)An appeal made shall be required to be in writing, stating clearly grounds for the appeal, accompanied with a fee of $500.
(4)The Minister's decision shall be final and shall not be subject to any further appeal or review by any court or tribunal."
