Immigration (Amendment) Decree 2011

IMMIGRATION (AMENDMENT) DECREE 2011
(DECREE NO. 30 OF 2011)

IN exercise of the powers vested in me as President of the Republic of Fiji and Commander in Chief of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces by virtue of the Executive Authority of Fiji Decree 2009, I hereby make the following Decree -

TO AMEND THE IMMIGRATION ACT 2003

Short title and commencement

1. This Decree may be cited as the Immigration (Amendment) Decree 2011, and shall come into force on the date it is published in the Gazette.

Schedule 3 amended

2. Schdule 3 of the Immigration Act 2003 ("the Act") is amended by -

(a) deleting after section 6 subsection, '(10)' and substituting "(11)"; and

(b) deleting after section 30, "subsection (2)".

Consequential amendments

3. - (1) The Act and all subsidiary laws made thereunder are amended by deleting all references to the words 'the Fiji islands' wherever they appear and substituting "Fiji".

(2) All States documents of any nature whatsoever, are consequentially amended by deleting the words 'the Fiji islands' wherever it appears and replacing it with "Fiji", unless the context requires.
