HIGH COURT ACT (AMENDMENT) PROMULGATION 2007
(PROMULGATION No. 23 OF 2007)
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred upon the Interim Government, and upon the exercise of my own deliberate judgement as President
of the Republic of the Fiji Islands as to what is best and good for the people of Fiji, and by the executive authority of the State
in accordance with section 85 of the Constitution and such other powers as may appertain, and with the advice of Cabinet, I, Josefa
Iloilovatu Uluivuda, make this Promulgation –
TO AMEND THE HIGH COURT ACT
Short title and commencement
1. This Promulgation may be cited as the High Court Act (Amendment) Promulgation 2007, which comes into force on the 10th of July
2007.
Part II of the Act amended
2. Part II of this Act is amended -
(a) in section 5(l) by deleting "15" and substituting "18";
(b) in section 5A.-(l) -
(i) in paragraph (g) delete "and";
(ii) in paragraph (h) delete "."." and substitute ";";
(iii) by adding the following countries -
"(1) Singapore;
(j) Malaysia;
(k) Hong Kong;
(1) India; and
(m) any country which is at the time of the appointment a member of the Commonwealth of nations."."
