AN ACT

TO AMEND THE HOTELS AID ACT

[1 January 2003]

ENACTED by the Parliament of the Fiji Islands

Short title and commencement

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Hotels Aid (Budget Amendment) Act 2003 and is deemed to come into force on 1^st January 2003.

(2) In this Act principal Act means the Hotels Aid Act (Cap. 215).

Interpretation

2. Section 12 of the principal Act is amended by deleting "by sections 21 to 24 inclusive" in the definition of short life investment package.

Effect of provisional approval

3. Section 16 of the principal Act is amended by deleting "30 June 2003" in subsection (1) and substituting "31 December 2005".

Extension of time for completion

4. Section 18 of the principal Act is amended by deleting "30 June, 2003" in subsection (1) and substituting "31 December 2005".

Final approval if substantially completed

5. Section 19 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the word "may" and substituting "shall".

Validation of Decree

6. For the avoidance of doubt, the Hotels Aid Act (Amendment) Decree 2000 (Decree No. 28 of 2000) is validated as if it were duly enacted by the Parliament of the Islands.
