Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority (Amendment) (No. 2) Decree 2011

FIJI ISLANDS REVENUE AND CUSTOMS AUTHORITY
(AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) DECREE 2011
(DECREE No. 18 of 2011)

IN exercise of the powers vested in me as the President of the Republic of Fiji and the Commander in Chief of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces by virtue of the Executive Authority of Fiji Decree 2009, I hereby make the following Decree-

TO AMEND THE FIJI ISLANDS REVENUE AND CUSTOMS AUTHORITY ACT 1998

Short title and commencement

1. - (1) This Decree maybe cited as the Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority (Amendment) (No. 2) Decree 2011 and is deemed to have come into force on 1st March 2011.

(2) The Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority Act shall be referred to as "the Principal Act".

Section 1 amended

2. Section 1 subsection (1) of the Principal Act is amended by deleting the whole subsection and substituting -

1.-(1) This Act maybe cited as the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority Act 1998".

Amendment of all references to "Islands" in the Principal Act

3. The Principal Act and all subsidiary laws made under the Principal Act are amended by deleting the word "Islands" wherever it appears.

New section 1A inserted

4. The Principal Act is amended by inserting a new section 1A after section 1-

"lA-(1) All written laws are amended by deleting all references to the word "Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority" wherever it appears and inserting "Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority.

(2) All State documents, of any nature whatsoever, are consequentially amended by deleting the word "Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority" and substituting "Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority", unless the context otherwise requires.
