BUSINESS LICENSING (AMENDMENT) DECREE 2013
(DECREE NO. 1 OF 2014)
IN exercise of the powers vested in me as President of the Republic of Fiji and the Commander in Chief of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces by virtue of the Executive Authority of Fiji Decree 2009 and section 165(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Fiji, I hereby make the following Decree—
TO AMEND THE BUSINESS LICENSING ACT (CAP. 204)
Short title and commencement
1.—(1) This Decree may be cited as the Business Licensing (Amendment) Decree 2013 and shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
(2) The Business Licensing Act (Cap. 204) shall be referred to as the "Act".
Section 6 amended
2. The Act is amended by deleting section 6 and substituting with the following new section—
"Form and duration of licence
6. A licence issued under this Act shall be in such form as may be decided by the licensing authority, and may be issued or renewed for a term not exceeding three years from the date of issue, unless the Minister by notification in the Gazette, determines that the issuance or renewal of licence for any particular type or class of business be granted for a specific period."
Consequential amendment
3. All references to “Chief Accountant” in the Act and the Public Health Act (Cap. 111) are deleted and substituted with “Permanent Secretary of Industry and Trade”, wherever they appear.
