AN ACT

TO AMEND THE BANKING ACT, 1983

[20th December 1985]

ENACTED by the Parliament of Fiji-

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Banking (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1985.

Definition of company

2. Section 2(1) of the Banking Act, 1983 is amended by deleting the definition of "company" and substituting the following definition-

"company" means-

(a) a body corporate established under any written law relating to the formation and registration of companies;

(b) a statutory corporation; and

(c) a body corporate which is established, whether under a law relating to the formation and registration of companies or by any other method of incorporation, outside Fiji;".

Passed by the House of Representatives this third day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand, nine hundred and eighty-five.

Passed by the Senate this seventeenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand, nine hundred and eighty-five.
