Fiji Islands - Ali, R v Reginam - Pacific Law Materials

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF FIJI

APPELLATE JURISDICTION

CRIMINAL APPEAL No. 57 of 1977

RAFIQ ALI
s/o Jaffar Ali
Appellant

v

REGINAM
Respondent

JNT

The appellant was convicted by the Mthe Magistrate's Court Suva on his own plea of larceny and was sentenced tmonths' imprisonment. The value of the property stolen was $114.

He now appeals againagainst the severity of sentence.

I have heard all that he has had to say in support of his appeal but find no merit in it. In view of his unsavoury record the sentence is a proper one. The appeal is dismissed.

G.Mishra
JUDGE

Suva,
23rd June 1977
