An Act to amend the Outer Islands Local Government Act 1987

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:

1. Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Outer Islands Local Government Amendment Act 2000 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Outer Islands Local Government Act 1987 ("the principal Act").

2. Interpretation

Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by -

(a) deleting the definition of "Minister" and substituting the following -

• "Minister" means the Minister responsible for Outer Islands Local Government;

(b) deleting the definition of "Secretary" and substituting the following -

• "Secretary" means the Chief Executive Officer of the Office of the Minister for Island Administration;
  

This Act is administered by the Office of the Minister responsible for Outer Islands Local Government
