An Act to amend the Entry, Residence and Departure Act 1971-72
(8th March 1985
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Entry Residence and Departure Amendment Act 1984-85 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Entry Residence and Departure Act 1971-72 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act")
Section 2 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the definition of the term "bona fide visitor" and substituting the following:
"means any person who enters the Cook Islands solely for the purpose of holidaying or recreation, and does not engage in the practice of any profession, or occupation business, trade or other commercial enterprise".
The principal Act is further amended by repealing paragraph (b) of sub-section 1 of section 12.
The principal Act is further amended by repealing section 18, and substituting the following:
"18 Expiry of Entry permit
Every entry permit shall expire two years from the date of issue, or upon the date that may be specified therein, whichever is the sooner."
The principal Act is further amended by repealing section 22.
The Act is administered by the Immigration Department.
