An Act to amend the Entry and Departure Ordinance 1963
(22 March 1971
BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Entry and Departure Amendment Act 1970-71 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Entry and Departure Ordinance 1963 (hereinafter referred to as the Ordinance).
Section 4 of the Ordinance is hereby amended by adding after the words "section 5 (1)" and before the words "the provisions", the words "and section 12 hereof".
Section 12 of the Ordinance is hereby amended by -
(a) Repealing paragraph (a) of subsection (1):
(b) Omitting from paragraph (c) of subsection (1) the words "permanent resident of the Cook Islands or being a":
(c) Adding a new paragraph to subsection (2) as follows:
- "(c) If in the opinion of the Executive Council the immigrant has been conducting himself in a manner that is undesirable having regard to the attitudes, standards or requirements of the community.
This Act is administered in the Premier's Department.
