Police v Carruthers [2007] CKHC 33; CR121.07 (3 September 2007)
IN THE HIGH COURT OF THE COOK ISLANDS
HELD AT RAROTONGA
(CRIMINAL DIVISION)
CR NO: 121/2007
BETWEEN
POLICE
v
WILLIAM CURRUTHERS
Defendant
Date: 03 September 2007
Mr. Elikana for Police
Mr. McFadzien for Defendant
SENTENCE OF WESTON J
- Mr Carruthers, you are here today for sentence having pleaded guilty to the possession of a small amount of cannabis. The suggestion
from your counsel is that it is not yours. That, however, is a matter I cannot resolve. The fact of the matter is that you have pleaded
guilty to possession.
- Mr McFadzien has pointed out that this is your first offence. He has taken me through the run of cases over the last few years. He
suggested that there should be a fine of $300. That coincides with my own thinking on the matter so you are fined the sum of $300.00
and Court costs of $30.00 in addition to that.
