v

RIMA KAINUKU
Defendant

Mr Elikana for Police
Mr McDonnell for Defendant
Date: 27 June 2002

DECISION OF GREIG CJ

I am going to sentence you to the same penalty, as I have sentenced those other young men that have appeared before me. Again you are aged 17, you have pleaded guilty and there is a previous conviction but I am not taking that into account. Again this is a case of just a very small quantity of cannabis and plants. So on the charge of cultivation of the cannabis, I am going to sentence you to 6 months community service to be followed by 1 year's probation, you are to live and work where approved by the Probation Service, you are not to purchase or to consume alcohol, you are not to enter into any licensed premises without the approval of the Probation Officer and you are to attend any workshop or other course of training or otherwise which the Probation Service suggests to you.

On the charge of the possession of utensil you will be convicted and discharged.

CHIEF JUSTICE
